Natural Matter has great pleasure in introducing Absolute Aromas Elemi Oil 10ml . Elemi oil is steam distilled from the sap of a tree in the same family as those that produce Frankincense and Myrrh. Elemis aroma is woody and smoky, like Frankincense, but the oil contains a higher concentration of terpenes, which give it a lighter, more lemony note.
Elemi was also used in the embalming process by ancient Egyptians and in modern aromatherapy it can be an alternative for Frankincense for its rejuvenating effects on the skin. Try 2 drops of Elemi and 1 drop of Rose blended with 10ml of Evening Primrose or Borage oil.
The name Elemi is said to be derived from Arabic and means as above, so below. Like Frankincense, it is believed to connect the spiritual, emotional and physical and is an excellent oil to burn during meditation.
To ease the mind and soothe the senses at the end of a hectic day, blend 4 drops of Elemi and 3 drops of Bergamot with 10ml of Peach Kernel oil.
